I unfortunately dont believe that this film will garner a huge following but I believe that something that isnt a commercial success will be studied and mental high fived when people understand things on a subliminal mental sub-transcendental level david lynch style and i think thats how well come to an understanding and the stress of not being able to figure out whats going on seeing amovie for what it is the first time having a strong enough emotion that you come back to it over and over that those are the movies that are good and the ones that dont ahve any effect are the bad ones. Criticsim should not take affect, as long as you take something away from it its all good. Something had changed in Jeffery at the end of Blue Velvet? I had the opposite impression. But you cant compare the ending of Blue Velvet without taking into the consideration its beginning the first few minutes that establish its tone. I left Blue velvet with the feeling that something had changed in jeffery and the ending and beginning perfectly compliment each other. That is not the case in the nines. If we take for granted that it's based in our own world, and things such as Evolution and Enlightenment have the same histories in the world of "G", then stating that Chimps are a six and humans a seven implies that humans can eventually become koalas, then...well, for lack of a theoretical God, let's call 9s simply "creators"...with a ten being the unknowable creator of creators...</p> <p>...so in the end, when the CG spectacle resolves itself into the eye of "M", I took it to mean that a representative part of "G" was alive within her, and possibly even that she had taken a large step toward becoming a 9. </p> <p>Is this a happy ending? Maybe in the same way that Blue Velvet had a happy ending. Because, in truth, the Creator is now gone, and humanity is left to figure it out on its own...or was there a line of dialog indicating otherwise?
