I just saw The Nines and I have to say it was absolutely amazing. Extremely bizare.
I, uh, have some questions/theories/thoughts I just want to get out there.
1. One theory I had was relating to the first part. I thought the actor was kind of immature... he was being 'babysitted', afraid he had no bellybutton, being impulsive... Susan/Sierra/Sarah sang him a lullaby, kind of. So I thought he was some kind of n00b or something to 'the game'. Melissa/Margaret/Mary also said, "oly oly oxen free," to him after finding the note.
2. At the beginning he was burning his ex-wife's stuff, right? Since there were several references to fire and stuff... it made me think he's tried to quit 'playing the game' more than once. Ninety times, maybe? Susan/Sierra/Sarah was "saved" from the fire - I can't remember by whom. But he didn't mean to burn the 'house' down, just his ex's stuff.
3. Is there significance in Melissa/Margaret/Mary? If he is almost!God... and she's his favourite, then is she like the virgin Mary somehow? What the heck does that mean for everyone else and his daughter?
4. I found the idea of the daughter being mute in one version, but not in the 'final' version really interesting. I have no idea what the hell it means, and it's driving me insane trying to figure out!
5. G1. He kind of sounds like a piece of a game too. He could be a creation as well.
6. The actors/actresses as themselves drives me nuts. Brilliant...ly confusing. Is that world the Real World? He played the game in the world... and seemed to have somehow created both of the other versions...
7. Is it true this movie has/had an ARG (Alternate Reality Game) that partially took place in Second Life? Hot damn. I hope that's a trend... I've been playing ARGs for years now; I frigging LOVE to see viral stuff like this.
8. Koalas? Telepathic koalas? Friggin' hip to the jive!
